Apple Cobbler

How to make the BEST apple cobbler for beginners




Apple Filling Ingredients

  • Apples (Granny Smith, Fuji, Honeycrisp) 976g

  • Granulated sugar 142g

  • Cornstarch 15g

  • Ground cinnamon 1g

  • Nutmeg 0.5g

  • Butter 28g

  • All-purpose flour 130g


Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375F.

  2. Mix flour, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg together.

  3. Peel and cut apples into 1" chunks.

  4. Add apples to the sugar mixture and mix until apples are evenly coated and let it sit for 15 minutes.

  5. Make the pecan streusel.

  6. Brush the baking dish with butter.

  7. Place apples in the baking dish and press down to pack in the apples.

  8. Break up the butter into small pieces and place randomly on top.

  9. Bake at 375F for 40 minutes.

  10. Add pecan streusel on top and bake for another 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

  11. Time to TASTE!!!


Pecan streusel ingredients

  • All-purpose flour 100g

  • Light brown sugar 30g

  • Baking powder 4g

  • Salt 4g

  • Butter (chilled and cubed) 42g

  • Pecans (toasted and chopped) 86g

  • Heavy cream (chilled) 115g

Directions

  1. Mix flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt together.

  2. Add chilled butter cubes and rub with your fingers until you get a coarse and sandy texture.

  3. Add toasted and chopped pecans and mix to combine.

  4. Add half of the chilled heavy cream and mix with a fork to combine, then add the remainder of the heavy cream and mix until incorporated.
